Elizabeth Jones is a violinist and music educator hailing from the small community of Twin Falls, Idaho. She began her Fine Arts education at a very young age studying violin, piano, and voice in addition to dance and theatre. Elizabeth graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Education, a degree placing priority on both performing and teaching, from Brigham Young University- Idaho in April of 2024. In the fall of 2024, she will begin graduate studies at Arizona State University, where she will study Violin Performance and Pedagogy with Dr. Katie McLin.

Elizabeth made her solo debut with the Brigham Young University- Idaho Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing with and conducting several top tier ensembles within the BYU-I Department of Music, she has played as a section violinist with both the Idaho Falls Symphony and the Bozeman Symphony. She has experience teaching orchestra and guitar in the public schools and maintains a private studio of violin, viola, and cello students.   

Teaching musicians of any age is one of Elizabeth’s greatest passions. Her philosophy of teaching is centered around having musical experiences in each lesson and practice through developing technique, exploring music literacy, and finding connection. Elizabeth has training in Takadimi, Kodaly, Orff, Dalcroze, Danielson, and more. For her, teaching is more than instruction. It is mentoring students by helping them see their potential and go beyond it. 

An avid scholar, Elizabeth holds awards for both performance and academics including the Eliza R. Snow Society Exemplary Student Winter 2022 Award, Strings Division Winner of the 2023 IFMC Collegiate Award, and 1st place in 18th Annual BCMS Young Artist String Quartet Competitions with her chamber group, sFOURzando. She has received additional training from the Bozeman’s Symphony’s Period Performance Workshop and the Brevard Music Center Orchestral Institute.
