Teaching Artist (Woodwinds)
Taylor Simpson is a multi-faceted teacher, performer, and administrator in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. She teaches saxophone, flute, clarinet, jazz combo, and music theory at SOUNDS Academy. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, she began playing saxophone at eight years old and has gone on to complete undergraduate degrees in saxophone performance and music theory at Arizona State University, under the tutelage of Dr. Christopher Creviston.
Taylor appreciates the value of music education and its ability to build students’ confidence, curiosity, and resilience. In private lessons, and group classes, Taylor uses case-by-case problem solving skills to assess students’ needs and designs creative and appropriate solutions. This results in each student achieving beyond what they believed was possible.
